Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AutoTax. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
AutoTax is an AI bookkeeping service that captures, OCRs, categorizes, and posts financial documents into accounting platforms such as Xero and MYOB. Features, integrations, and limits may evolve as the product matures.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of the business you represent. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Your data and content
You retain ownership of the receipts, invoices, bills, and other content you submit. You grant AutoTax a limited licence to process this content solely to provide and improve the service, including OCR, categorization, and syncing to platforms you connect.
4. Connected accounting platforms
When you connect Xero, MYOB, or another platform, you authorize AutoTax to read and write data within the scope of that connection. You are responsible for reviewing transactions posted to your ledger and for any decisions made by your accountant or bookkeeper based on them.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, including: uploading content you do not have the right to submit; attempting to bypass security or access controls; reverse engineering the service; or using AutoTax for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
6. AI output and accuracy
AutoTax uses AI to extract and classify data. While we work hard to be accurate, AI output may contain errors. AutoTax is a tool to assist with bookkeeping; it is not a substitute for professional tax, accounting, or legal advice. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it.
7. Fees and billing
Paid plans, pricing, and billing terms will be presented at sign-up. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing on prospective billing periods with reasonable notice.
8. Beta features
Some features may be offered as beta or early access. Beta features are provided "as is", may change or be removed without notice, and may have additional limits.
9. Third-party services
AutoTax integrates with third-party services such as Xero and MYOB. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or behaviour.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using AutoTax at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk for us or other users, or if required by law. On termination, you may export your data for a reasonable period.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoTax is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be free from inaccuracies.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoTax's total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You and AutoTax submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia in relation to any dispute connected with the service.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-product before they take effect. Continued use of AutoTax after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
